“A Reader lives a thousand lives
before he dies”- George R R Martin, this is
something every reader comes to realize when he gets lost in the
world of books. A few years ago I read my first book and that set me
on a journey and opened a new chapter in my life. A friendship that
is to be forever. Friendship with a non living entity within which
strive an endless realm of living entities.
A Shepard boy chasing his dream,
“ALCHEMIST”. This
is where I began to realize reading was not just about going through
each line, it was about searching between the lines to understand
what the author had hidden in them and this is where I started
admiring a certain writers style and depth of writing- Paulo
Coelho. Each quote here remains within me as a reflection of
my life as well as love and a reflection worthwhile to share.
“Where your treasure is, there
will also be your heart”- ALCHEMIST
I had read
ALCHEMIST before but this time it was different. Memories flashed
before me as I sat in my room with sound of the rain cleansing the
earth. The days with my mother seemed to be the most beautiful ones
her smile, the concern, love, anger everything was just too beautiful
too ignore. The pride in my fathers eyes when I am successful or when
someone praises me made me jump in joy. The naughtiness in my sisters
eyes that says I will love you but will rather fight then admitting
it at present made me care for her even more. When I felt everything
was complete came “love” with more possessiveness, endless
passion and burst of energy to rule my heart like a queen. If this is
not treasure what is?
“There is no such thing as a
single chance, The lord gives you many opportunities during our life
time”- THE FIFTH MOUNTAIN
Post
Engineering was time where I had entered a territory where millions
of youth in our country roam- Unemployment. Words terming you as
useless, a waste of time, burden are showered on you by the society
and family alike. Each step I took landed me in failure, countless
exams and interviews nothing went right. Each opportunity lost felt
like the last but the lord for me came in the form of my companion.
After months of countless rejection the moment arrived where I
finally won, a hard earned job! yes indeed. The return home was a bus
journey from Banglore to Palakkad and that's when I came across this
quote in THE FIFTH MOUNTAIN,
a quote that signified my 9 month struggle.
“Happiness is something that
multiplies when divided”- BY THE RIVER PIEDRA I SAT DOWN
AND WEPT
BY THE RIVER
PIEDRA I SAT DOWN AND WEPT was a gift for me by someone special.
My habit to read books while traveling landed me with this book in
hand at Coimbatore bus stand. A small girl was selling pins and came
to me with request to buy some. I bought a dozen and asked her name.
She smiled and replied “Teriyathu” and happily ran away to a shop
near by where 3 more children nearly her age where waiting for her.
They bought a single piece of bun and shared happily, talking,
laughing and living in their own world, a world that is build with
pure innocence .Joy in their eyes, smile in those lips just kept my
eyes glued at them. I looked upon and to my amazement I was not alone
a few tens where seeing the same and smiling. That's the real
happiness you get when you share and by the way now she has a name
“SIMRAN”.
“The strongest love is the love
that can demonstrate its fragility”- ELEVEN MINUTES
Yes, I have loved
and have fought with my love. The anger sometimes makes you say
things that's embedded deep inside your mind. Has that made our love
weak ?No, not at all. Comforting those moist eyes, doing the craziest
of thing to make her smile again and finally kissing those cheeks to
say sorry. That's what remains not the fight nor the words said, just
the need to be together,The desire to share your every moment with
her. ELEVEN MINUTES is more than enough to start and end a
fight.
“Someday everything will make
perfect sense. So for now laugh at the confusion, smile through the
tears and keep reminding yourselves that everything happens for a
reason”- MANUSCRIPT FOUND IN ACCRA
MANUSCRIPT
FOUND IN ACCRA was given to me by a friend at a time when the
word friend did mean anything to me anymore. I had made more enemies
than friend in my 23 years and the friends I made seemed strangers at
that moment. Heart broken ,thought why is everything happening to me.
Now when I look at those days the very reason that brought the faith
upon me is the thing that is making my life perfect. She brought a
smile to my face and gave a shoulder to cry. Now I know everything
happens for a reason. Everything happens for the best of you. Thanks
to the person who has made my life so beautiful and that person is my
reason.
Paulo
Coelho's books
are special to me and I wanted to share where these books stand in
my life and love. These experiences are what make me and define me.
The three most important parts the love the
life and the books
are here together. Hope you will enjoy it.
A question should
arise in everyone's mind why read something that not related to
yourselves?.
You may never know- its life, read between the the lines and you may
discover yourselves in it.
There is a saying
LIFE IS A BOOK, and as per R D Cummings- “ A GOOD BOOK
NEVER ENDS”.

But getting this much intimate, only good readers can achieve... Good work c.. Let ur writings too inspire some good readers
Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. need to start somewhere. Start by getting something – anything – down on paper....
